The 'National Clean Air Cities' awards will be based on the Clean Air Survey best performing air quality targets and implementation of corrective, preventive mitigation actions will be given to the nine cities. 

So , that A total cash prize of approximately Rs 5 crore will be awarded to motivate these cities to take more concrete action towards their clean air goals.

To celebrate the spirit of Amrit Mahotsav in the 75th year of independence and to channel dialogue on the need of clean air in the country, 'Vayu-O' Research University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha from 2nd to 4th December, 2022. An important 'Jeevan Shakti' conference is being organized.

 The conference focuses on various air quality related issues ranging from scientific discussion on climate change and pollution control to enriching our understanding on air quality from ancient scriptures and texts.

Honorable Professor Ganeshi Lal, Governor of Odisha, Shri Bhupendra Yadav, Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister for Education & Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Shri Ashwini Kumar Choubey, Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Cuttack MP Shri. Bhartrihari Mahtab, Bhubaneshwar MP Mrs. Aparajita Sarangi and eminent dignitaries from across the country will grace the event.

According to the concept of Panchamahabhoota, everything in nature is made up of five elements namely earth, water, fire, air and space. An imbalance or threat to any of these elements is a threat to the well-being of humanity.

 Thus clean air is important for maintaining vitality and good health. The aim of this Air Summit is to bring together all important stakeholders to build on the multi-pronged efforts by governments to achieve our air quality goals set out in the National Clean Air Programme.

How much amount will be given for 'National Clean Air Cities' award

To celebrate the achievements of our cities in their efforts to achieve clean air targets, the 'National Clean Air Cities' awards based on the Clean Air Survey best performing air quality targets and implementation of corrective, preventive mitigation actions will be given to the nine cities that A total cash prize of approximately Rs 5 crore will be awarded to motivate these cities to take more concrete action towards their clean air goals.

A youth session will be organized on December 2, 2022 to creatively engage the youth of the country and give them a platform to come forward with their innovative ideas related to solutions to air quality challenges. 

Students will engage in brainstorming sessions on atmospheric science, climate change, human health, heritage studies, agricultural issues and mitigation measures. Apart from this, an exhibition will also be organized to raise public awareness on air quality and natural alternatives and to showcase the heritage of Odisha.

More than 500 participants will take part in this conference. These include experts, students, educationists, state pollution control boards, pollution control committees, municipal commissioners, state environment secretaries, scientists and engineers. 

This will be a massive participation program to increase public participation in the celebrations conducted under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
